In the final moments before the destruction of Installation 1138 the Simulacra which held the island managed to send one final transmission to an unknown, and unseen entity. Hidden, buried deep in the sound and static were four simple lines:
The Pilot is The Builder.
The Builder is The Destroyer.
Virgil is an anomaly.
Wake The Singularity.
The Pilot Trilogy: Chapter 1.5
When we last left The Pilot and Virgil, our heroes had just laid waste to Installation 1138 and The Simulacra that destroyed their home; Circle City. In one final act of defiance a transmission was sent as the island fell. Now something more mysterious, more sinister, and bigger than either one of them could possibly imagine is on the horizon and neither one of them have any idea.
The Simulacra Transmission is a step away from our usual sound. We went into each song with a general direction of where we wanted it to go, but it is heavily improvised. We played around with different tape sounds, new instruments, and got weird with a bike wheel. This album is an experiment in new ideas, new feelings, and getting a little uncomfortable. As always, best with headphones.

Ian Duvall used to play bass in this band (and still kind of does sometimes). His latest release, Iterations, will take you on a goddamn journey. Don't sleep on this. Shipwreck Karpathos
Coastlands is one of those rare bands that continues to get better with every single record they put out. Death is no exception. It's heavy, and dark, and beautiful, and a damn near flawless record. Shipwreck Karpathos
The second EP from the gloomy post-hardcore dreamboats in Grimoires. It's like if Sparta, Small Brown Bike and My Bloody Valentine had a child, and that child liked wearing black pants at the beach. Shipwreck Karpathos
Toronto band Respire deliver a post-hardcore tour de force on the largest scale possible, orchestrally rich and incessantly uncompromising. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 6, 2021
